Technical Visit

The technical visit will focus on three activities. Firstly, participants will visit some of the most interesting infrastructure investments in the Public Transportation system. We will take a Transantiago bus to visit different bus corridors, the largest intermodal station in Santiago, a Metro station, and an urban freeway.

In the second part, we will visit the headquarters of Metro and learn about their operations and visit their Integrated Control Center, one of the most sophisticated such facilities in South America, from which four lines are controlled.

Finally, we will walk around the civic center of the city to observe further interesting examples of public transport infrastructure.

The group will be divided into two smaller groups for the second and third part of the activity.

Schedule:

10:00 Departure from the Baquedano Metro station (specific meeting point to be defined)

12:00 Arrival to the Metro headquarters

13:00 Walk through the civic center

14:00 End of the Technical Visit (at the La Moneda Metro station)
